Okay, I have a 13 year old step daughter, and she was abused my her mother as a kid, and a few weeks ago, they told her she was going back to live with her mother. She was there for about a day, and her mother beat her so bad they said she had a 30% chance of surviving throgh the night, she made it, and she is fine now, and everything is normal, but she is just really down. SHe dosent talk, barely eats, and just lies awake all night, we’re having another baby in May, and she was SO excited about it, but now she dosent even care. She goes to a Teen Depression Center, but it’s not helping at all. We want to talk to her about everything that happened, but we’re not sure how to go about it? Any ideas? thanks
All that comes to mind at first is that I am very sorry she has been through that. Secondly, I am curious if you can get her to participate in something I found very therapeutic in recovering from the abuse in my own life as a child.
