does creatine cause water retention?
ive recently started weight lifting and actually started eating healthy.im 162 lbs and 5ft 9 in tall..32 yrs old and im healthy with no underlying medical concerns or conditions. i started taking 2 types of supplements. #1 Anavol with the primary ingredients being Creatine Alpha ketoglutarate,Glutamine Alpha ketoglutarate, and citrulline malate. ..#2 Thermo gain with the primary ingrident being Tri creatine malate.. i have noticed some size and muscle gain, but my friend who’s a power lifter says creatine supp’s effects are nothing but an optical illusion and nothing more than water retention..is this true?
Creatine supplementation utilizing proper cycling and dosages has not been linked with any adverse side effects beyond occasional dehydration due to increased muscular water uptake from the rest of the body. If I were you I’d go with a plan of Whey Protein and Amino Acids. Creatine has too much sugar in it. Sugar is not good for the muscle process.
